After getting to our original hotel and finding they never received our booking, priceline found this place. It's a little outside of downtown Duluth. Very quaint. Staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Although we didn't get the chance to use this visit, they have a free zoo pass as well as free bike rentals. Beds aren't the best but we were just happy we had found a place on a busy weekend. The breakfast here is good too (similar to hotel continental). I would definitely give this place a chance!

An older motel with free breakfast. The desk clerks were young and very friendly. The room was small, included a very old dorm fridge and microwave. You could see light coming in the room on all 4 sides of the wall mounted AC unit. Unable to plug cell phone or anything into the electrical outlets, as they were very old and unable to hold anything plugged in. Multiple extension cords were laying haphazardly on the floor for the fridge/microwave. Very small bath with a stand up shower. The wallpaper/paint was peeling off the walls and looked dirty. Breakfast/coffee was not available when I went to the dining area at 8am as they had “run out of stuff” and the pleasant staff member who was trying to get it set up had to run to the grocery to get the items. Parking was convenient ( right outside your door). Somewhat noisy, as out of town construction crews often stay there.

Great stay. Cabin feel. Right next to ski hill. Is this a 5 star hotel. No. If that's what you want book the Westin. This was a quaint little spot, our room was clean and comfortable. Room 101. The price was right. And it's dog friendly! And it doesn't smell like dog. Would stay here again. We even forgot our cell phone, and went back and housekeeping had turned it in. Yah!

I can tell you that obviously not all these 'great' reviews are legit. Here is a TRUE review. My husband and I, along with my brother and his wife reserved two Queen size kitchenette rooms for $160 per night. The rooms appeared to be semi-clean. I can tell the sheets hadn't been changed. The pillows smelled. The mattress was very old, hard and should have been replaced 10 years ago. The bathroom sink was clogged so it took a very long time for any water to drain. The coffee maker that was in the room was broken and didn't work at all. We had to walk to the main lobby to get coffee and that coffee wasn't even hot. It was just luke warm. I wouldn't even get in the shower because I would come out more dirty than when I got in. My brother and his wife had a toilet that ran all night long and the door to the room didn't want to stay shut. They had to slam it to get it to stick. They had to keep the blinds shut so they wouldn't have to see the broken part of the window frame. Unfortunately, by the time we knew this, other hotels were booked. We all got up early the next morning and left. I will say that you could see that they made some effort to update the place. However, the general care and condition of the rooms left a lot to be desired. Not sure where all these 'wonderful' rooms were these other reviews are posting, but we sure didn't see them. All of this would have been a little more expected had we only paid $80/ night. (You get what you pay for) - However, it was NOT worth even close to the $160/night we paid. Save your money.

I like the country setting of the rooms and all the extras that come with your stay. My kids enjoy the Zoo Pass that is offered at no extra charge, the bikes provided for rides down the Munger Trail, and much more. The staff is friendly and always welcoming.. and the hotel Labradors Jersey and Barney are also a favorite of my family!!
