My wife and I spent 3 nights at this Holiday Inn over Christmas when visiting relatives. The hotel staff was friendly and the new beds were incredible ! The only concern was that there was no shower pressure. I enjoyed the ease of using the parking ramp and the fact that the parking was free (Holiday Inn Downtown St. Paul charges $ 15.00 per night to park) ! Our room faced Lake Superior and the skyway was easy to use. We would definitely stay there again !!
I would not stay at the holiday inn down town for a few reasons. The first the customer service is rude at the front desk. I made my reservation for a early check in on Friday at noon was told when I showed up that check and is guaranteed at 3 o’clock you can keep checking in but we don’t know if your room will be ready. The other reason was the rooms were not that nice as compared to other holiday inn is that I have stayed at in the past. The other thing was is that the rooms are very thin wall you can hear everything that is going on with your neighbor next-door are even in the hallway. Unfortunately I came here during a hockey tournament and I can hear kids screaming an alarm clock is going off at 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning. The only nice thing I will say about this hotel is that it is conveniently located in downtown and you can go anywhere in all the skywalks so you don’t have to really drive anywhere if you don’t want to drive. That will be the only nice thing I will say about this review other than that the rooms are not that nice compared to other holiday ends. I am really surprised that they even still hold their standards for the Holiday Inn. I think it is overpriced as well but you do pay for the convenience of being downtown.
This is a nice hotel, but please ask if your room is near the pool. If it is, that is all you can hear. Especially ask if you are paying for a suite. We stayed in the Lief Erickson Suite. The room was great but it was right outside the pool area which made me want to leave.
Very nice service, brought up extra sheets at request. They have a nice little pool and hot tub plus a mini fridge and tv. Pretty standard.
Holiday Inn is in a great location in downtown Duluth. There is a connected ramp for free parking. Additionally the hotel is connected to the skywalk system. The hotel and conference rooms were renovated recently. The rates seem sightly high, but you get what you pay for
