Had an excellent experience at Silos. Food was very good-to-excellent. Service was awesome - waitress was very friendly. She agreed to keep a dessert cold that we'd brought in for a family birthday and she put candles in it before bringing it out after our dinner. She even joined us in singing 'Happy Birthday'. Beautiful ambience with all the windows looking over the harbor. Would definitely recommend.
First off, the hotel and the views are amazing. The restaurant and bar is set up well, brand new, and clean. However the menu was small and overpriced. There was 5 adults in our party, three of the food items we tried to order they were "out of". The next morning for breakfast they were also out of an item. The waitress inaccurately described an entree and we were very disappointed when it came out. The bar is good for a drink but I would not eat here again.
Good food. Weird portion sizes and it wasn't hot by the time we got it. The service was terrible! Our server completely ignored us. Took over 20 minutes for her to take our drink orders and then forever for the food to arrive. We sat and watched another table come in, get served, eat, pay, and leave before our food arrived. Took way to long for her to pick up our check and bring a box for leftover food. Horrible service.
It pains me to leave one star. I wanted to LOVE this place. I really did. But after two tries, I am calling it quits. The harbor views are incomparable. The vibe could be funky but it's more hospital cafeteria than hip eatery. It has SO much potential. I have faith that they'll get it right, and that they're just experiencing growing pains. The food is never ever ever the temperature it should be, the portions are quite strange, too much of this, not enough of that, and the service is hit or miss. Advice to management from a food service industry vet: Train your kitchen. Raise your expectations. Educate your servers. Get creative with your breakfast and brunch. You're better than this, silos!!!
The place is pretty cool. Only got to check out the restaurant here, but the hotel portion looks really nice. Had great views of the lake and is pretty easy to get to. Love the look of the building as well.
