To be honest, I'm not a fan of their interior decor, but food and service is a 5 star for sure
Underwhelming. Our waitress Molly was friendly, helpful and attentive but that is the beginning and end of the good things I have to say. Prices were way to high for quality of food served. Shrimp scampi was bland and shrimp had the texture and taste of frozen grocery store quality food. We were sitting very near where wait staff would enter their orders into the computer and heard them clearly talking negatively about other diners who were in the restaurant. Very disappointing overall.
The wait staff was well trained and what you could expect from a higher class restaurant, the building is beautiful and it's right in the heart of Canal Park. While not the place where I would think Italian food of this caliber would exist, Bellisio's was a knock out.
If you're booking a stay in Duluth's Canal Park area, or you know you will be there, I suggest making a reservation for Bellisio's because it was amazing. We went there on a Friday night for dinner and found out that the wait was going to be over 90 minutes and was suggested that reservations were the way to get in, so we made reservations for lunch the following day.
Very good food and drinks. A little on the expensive side but well worth it. I had the walleye fish which was breaded and served with potatoes and vegetables. It was good and plenty filling with the table foccatia bread. The deserts looked amazing and I can hardly wait to try them next time!
Lunch time probably didn't need reservations however they did say they were booked out for Saturday night as well, so this is something to do in preparation so you know you can get in if you want to have dinner.
The noodles were done to perfection and were a high-quality, the sauce was old-world style and the meatball on my spaghetti was a 10 out of 10 for sure. Lemon aid was not fountain and something I enjoy at as many places as I can get it and theirs was done very well.
Great pasta place. I've been here several times and usually get the shrimp scampi. We shared an order of fried zucchini sticks served with tasty dipping sauce as an appetizer. A single Caesar salad served the 4 of us it was so big--and tasty. We parked in the lot next door and paid $5. I always forget to tell my server we parked there to get a reduction off my check. They have a great wine selection too. I had a nice flight of rosé. My husband had a flight of Chardonnay. Both tasty and reasonably priced.
Prices were good for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. I'll be coming back to try the rest of the menu, and each time I book a room in Duluth, this will be the phone call right after my hotel reservation.
