CSS certainly has its fair share of problems; where doesn't? You can get pushed down by the bureaucracy of it from time to time, the climb up Tower Hall's stairs can get INCREDIBLY tiring, and the Science Center is a maze within itself. However, where I'm not yet through my first year here, I've had some of the best times of my life, and met the most wonderful people, and learned some incredible things (this is coming from a Tower major, mind you). It's a beautiful, imperfect, complicated place, with students and faculty trying to make it better each and every day. Take some time to look here. Whether you attend here or not, you'll enjoy your time up on the hill.
College of St Scholastica was a waste of my hard earned money and four years of my life. I would give away my degree from this shame of a school if I could. I received an extremely low quality education and dealt with extremely corrupt and dishonest administrators and instructors who just cared about keeping their jobs and scratching each other's backs and could care less about a student or ethics or integrity for that matter. Benedictine values...what a joke.
Can't wait to attend CSS next year, and become a Student Athlete! #SaintsRiseUp
Parent point of view....My daughter attended CSS last year 2016-17 and it was at a tremendous expense to us physically, mentally, and financially, and so not worth the time or money. She played softball there while paying $22k for tuition after academic scholarships. In the last week of practice before the end of the season, the coach had them practice inside the all sport arena because of weather. This is normally a good thing, but she had them sliding with tennis shoes on the gym floor. My daughter ended up breaking her leg because it got caught underneath her while sliding, and it required a plate and 5 screws. After insurance, she was still stuck with a $7400 medical bill. She signed the waiver at the beginning of the season, but I still thought that coaching negligence would still be covered by the school. It went all the way to the president and was denied so my 19 year old daughter walked out of St. Scholastica with $8k in academic debt (loans and we paid the other amount) and $7400 in medical debt based on a coaches lack of common sense. I would not recommend this school to anyone and if you read some of the other student reviews, you will see I am not alone. You have been warned from a very frustrated, professional parent working in the medical field.
(P.S. Where the food down in Somers isn't the greatest, Storm's Den has some good eats.
This Unversity is a fraud promise everything to students then all of a sudden take it away with them, like masters degree and dash it throw it into the trash I do not recommend this unversity to anybody if it was possible I would give St Scholastica 0 stars
