We went on an incredible sail with Bob on Sunday, July 16th for our first wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have loved it more! It was a perfect adventure for our special day. Even though it was rather windy and the waves were pretty intense, we never felt uncomfortable and Bob thoroughly explained the entire experience to us. Time Out Sailing deserves 10 stars! We truly enjoyed the entire trip, and we boasted about the sail to all of our friends and family when we returned home. And the sailboat itself was gorgeous! Our sail was our favorite part about our most recent stay in Duluth! My husband LOVED working the sails for a little bit and taking the helm!

I've sailed with Time Out twice now, once with my wife on a sunset sail for our anniversary and once with a group of friends as part of a bachelor party. As you can imagine two very different circumstances, and the experience was nothing less than fantastic both times. They have a beautiful boat and captain Jake is great, very laid back and accommodating. If this is something you are thinking about doing I can't recommend these guys enough, you won't be disappointed!
My family had a wonderful afternoon sail on the lake with Jake. He was friendly, welcoming and very patient with our kids (5 and 7.) Each of us took a turn at the helm, with my husband navigating for a good portion of the sail. Jake let us be as involved as we wanted and was very diligent about making sure we felt safe and comfortable. The boat itself was beautiful and had everything our family needed to enjoy the afternoon. We loved seeing the North Shore from the water and I'm sure we'll be back for a longer trip next time.
My mom planned this for me and my boyfriend without telling me and honestly it was the best gift she's ever given me! It was such an amazing experience and if I got the chance to do it again, I'd do it in a heartbeat! The captain was very hospitable and very nice! He let us steer and have free range throughout the whole boat! We circled around the lake and came back to watch the sunset, it was beautiful! We came back just in time to see the city light up and the lift bridge rise. Over all, it was perfect!
I grew up lucky enough to sail on a beautiful boat out of Madeline Island. It was such a treat to be able to share this experience with my own children. Jake was fabulous of course and it was crazy to know that he knew exactly what boat was mine growing up just by its name!
We had a perfect day and plenty of opportunities to try our hand at the helm and as first mate. I would recommend Time Out to anyone wanting the best experience in sailing on beautiful Lake Superior!
