Great bookstore and really the only option I know of. They carry some obscure movies and tv shows as well and the price reflects that. The only negative for me is the stench of Starbucks and hipsters.
I love being able to still go into a book store and look at books and I appreciate B&N being here in Duluth. The store is clean and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My only reason for the four star rating is their prices. I love books and I buy a lot of books. I can’t justify spending sometimes $9 more on a YA paperback book in the store than I can get it online at Amazon (with free next-day shipping). I want to keep B&N here, but they have to get a little more competitive with their prices. Or at least honor other stores’ prices. I usually stick to the bargain book section when I purchased here.
I know it's the holidays, but a recent visit left me with a bad feeling. A snooty clerk was put out when I asked a question, and seemed irritated when she sharply directed me to the empty information desk for help. That's why I usually shop at the bookstore at Fitgers.
Expensive, but oh well. Not much for music books. Good atmosphere, like going to a nice library. Spacious, sofas and couches, relaxing. Coffee and cake if ya got the bucks.
Fantastic drinks at the on-site Starbucks!! Great service if you need it but I found I could wonder looking at nothing without being bothered. Loved it.
