I love this zoo! While smaller than some, this allows for more personal interaction with the staff. They were all outgoing and friendly and willing to share whatever information they had about everything.
Loved this zoo. The bat encounter was great. The waterfall is so pretty.
We didn't have to pay to enter as we have yearly memberships to another zoo that gets us into others at discounts. That being said, it was okay because we got in for free. I don't know what it costs, but it's probably not worth it right now. I know they are building some new exhibits that look like they should be nice when completed. We had hoped to spend a few hours there, and had to really try to spend more than an hour going through the few exhibits. The positive thing is they had animals that we don't get to see at our "regular" zoo.
The animals appeared to be well cared for, and even interacted with my 3-year-old daughter. The female lion came right to the viewing area. It was such a memorable experience!
This is SUCH A FUN ZOO!!!! It's fairly small and some of the animals are common barnyard types, but in so many exhibits the animals were sooooo close. My passion is bats and their bats are really well displayed. PLUS they have a straw colored flying fox that was hand-raised and is an education bat and comes right up to the glass!
