I have nothing against Mr. Layman, but I do feel that he took advantage of me while I was very vulnerable and therefore I would not recommend him.

I have recently been contacted by an attorney in the cities and he has assured me that he is hard working on getting me the best possible outcome.

Gus Layman is a great lawyer. He is honest, compassionate and genuinely cares about people. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone.

I hired Gus after his review of my case, he assured me several times that he would get me the best possible award and work hard to get it done as quick as possible. After over a year later and not much in the way of correspondence or communication, he has me fly (at my own expense) from AZ to MN to meet with a Independent Medical Examiner. When I meet with Gus, I find that he has not scheduled the IME and has decided to go a different route..WHAT? He had me up there to have me sign an OFFER, an OFFER I was not notified about... A wasted trip, for nothing..I have a discussion with Gus on the phone after getting back to AZ and after receiving notice that he has placed a lien on my case and I fired him on the spot. Everything in his responce to my previous post is absurd and mostly lies, he is very good at what he does..Very Manipulating person. The only "work" that was noticeable to others was to request duplicates and triplicates of documents already requested by the previous attorney (not three, as he stated) He has stated so many mistruths to "save" his reputation at my expense. This is a black and white work related injury I sustained while working in a prison. Everything is well documented with video and witnesses. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and have chronic pain from the injuries I sustained. Mr. Layman said nothing about his being limited by the facts of his case, the passage of time, and decisions that had already been made prior to his representation, when he asked me to sign his waver.
