I suppose eating a syrup-y pancake with a glass of water isn't the best combination. Oh well!
Fabulous food and service! The wait was a bit long but completely understandable as we visited around a holiday time at noon. The food was completely worth the wait. The buttermilk pancakes were heavenly, too!
The food here is geared toward the health conscience and vegetarian, but meat options are also available. It's a cute place, but I thought the food here was just alright. Maybe my expectations were too high. My breakfast burrito was a little dry and needed salt and the savory crepes could have used a little more cheese etc. The favorite at the table was the hippie breakfast. All in all it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.
I will come back, again, but maybe stick to the salmon-pesto omelet. With coffee, but, of course!
We had my retirement party there Tuesday evening. Several of the guests had never been there before and were blown away by the menu. Everybody complimenented the food and were delighted with the variety of choices. I'm sure you will be seeing them return. I'm a regular and was thrilled to share one of my favorite places with them. Thanks.
I've been to this restaurant one time before - two years ago. The omelet with salmon and pesto was sooo good. This weekend I came, waited 30 minutes in anticipation on a Saturday morning, and ordered a pancake with two choices of filling. I chose peaches and walnuts. The oatmeal-beer syrup was delicious. But the pancake and fillings did not hold up well to the syrup. The pancake was kind of bland and dry. I had to dig around to find the peaches - definitely were there every few bites or so.
The service was so-so. The waiter was so rushed, I forgot to ask him for coffee. (He did not ask me what I would like to drink.) My coffee came just as I was finishing the pancake.
I rated this place 6 years ago on Google, and it holds to this day. Whenever somebody tells us they're going to Duluth, we tell them to come here before going anywhere else. Good food, good atmosphere, and lake view, what else is there?
