I ordered 2 cakes. The smash cake was beautiful. But the cake for everyone else to eat was burnt on the inside and it was just GROSS. It was dry and hard and burnt between each layer. After spending all that time and money since my little girl has allergies, not one person ate the cake, luckily I had also made cupcakes that saved me for my guests. Then when I try to even go to the same lady that messed up her first birthday hoping that maybe we could somehow try to make it right with her second birthday, because the design was very pretty on her smash cake, just not good tasting at all, she was not nice about it at all and instead actually very rude telling me I was wrong, and that it didn’t matter anyways since I didn’t come to her and tell her the day of the party or the day after. I was aggravated because there was no way this new time around she would let us taste or at least let us see it before we paid. (Which also was not even a question of a discount from the last one) So I was to scared of a disaster again and I felt if she was very confident she would let me pay this time when I picked it up; Since I’m the one that got screwed over first off. So needless to say she didn’t get a cake from her this year, I cancelled the order.
Love the energy! This bakery is run by peeps with terrific ideas and the ability to work with their customers to meet creative/budget/diet needs. I've never eaten anything made by Eileen and her team that I didn't like :-)
So glad they didn't stay closed long. Their frosting is amazing! Great cakes and great desserts
We ordered our wedding cake from here, and we promised the world (and paid for it too.) $900 for a very simply decorated three tier. Our test cakes were amazing, as was the customer service long distance, but the final product was very lacking. Our guests didn't like it, I didn't like it, and I honestly could have found the same thing from my local grocery store. They asked what they could do to remedy the situation, but I couldn't find an answer. You are only married once! I would only invest in these cakes if you aren't decorating it yourself and want the decorations done professionally. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
We chose How Sweet It Is Cakes for our wedding in Lutsen, MN and we were not disappointed. They do an amazing job collaborating with you so that you get exactly what you want - they even collaborated with our florist so that we were able to have flowers on the cake. We forgot our cake topper, but I don't think anybody noticed due to the cake being so stunning. The cake stand that we also used from them was beautiful and matched our venue and design great! Most importantly for us, the cake tasted delicious - we had a three tiered cake, each tier having a different and unique flavor, all were fabulous!
